Risk & Fraud Operations Lead

About the Position

We are seeking a seasoned expert to spearhead our risk and fraud management initiatives in APAC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing strategies to reduce fraudulent activities and developing innovative solutions to enhance our proactive risk posture.

The role demands a deep understanding of risk and fraud ecosystems, with the ability to analyze behaviors of key user groups - Spenders, Earners, and Merchants - and identify patterns indicative of potential fraudulent activity.

The successful professional must maintain a delicate balance between delivering an exceptional user experience and preventing fraudulent transactions.

This role requires a combination of creative problem-solving, detail-oriented responsibility, market risk & fraud knowledge, project management, and strong stakeholder management skills.

  • Develop and optimize strategic fraud focus by implementing new risk mitigation solutions and frameworks.
  • Reduce fraud losses through various motives including financial fraud, chargebacks, and promo abuse.
  • Analyze fraud vectors using SQL to detect and recommend solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess issues and develop scalable solutions.
  • Evaluate the risk potential of new product features or business lines and recommend mitigating strategies.

Key Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in risk, online retailers, startups, strategy, operations, analytics, business development, or similar fields.
  • Deep understanding of risk and fraud ecosystems.
  • Capacity to understand business decisions' implications and their effects on financials.
  • Excellent judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to translate data findings into business strategy.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ambition and enthusiasm to build value.
