We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead operations in our Advanced Prototyping Facility (APF). The APF is a state-of-the-art workshop that supports research, teaching, and industry collaboration through innovation and bespoke solutions.

The Role

As Senior Technical Officer, you will oversee the safe, efficient, and creative use of the facility. You will enable students, researchers, and industry partners to design, produce, and test prototypes that drive forward new technologies and ideas.

  • You will coordinate and schedule prototyping jobs with students, academics, and industry partners.
  • You will design and produce bespoke parts and prototypes using advanced equipment.
  • You will provide technical advice across mechanical, electrical, chemical, and architectural design projects.
  • You will lead inductions, training, and safe use of workshop equipment.

You will report directly to the College Operations Manager and work closely with other College workshops.
