Job Title

The Operational Risk and Compliance team are responsible for the critical infrastructure that powers our risk processes across the organisation.

We provide intelligent, real-time and personalised experiences for employees and frictionless risk management processes for an ecosystem.

Your Impact

As a Technical Lead in Operational Risk and Compliance, you will guide the strategic and technical direction of a cross-functional engineering crew. You will be responsible for delivery excellence, platform scalability and team growth within a cloud-native data environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a high-performing engineering function, fostering ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Shape the technical roadmap for Operational and Compliance solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and enterprise architecture.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud-native data solutions, including real-time streaming, analytics, and AI-driven personalisation.
  • Champion engineering best practices, including CI/CD, observability, and secure-by-design principles, across the delivery lifecycle.
  • Drive reusability and platform adoption, enabling faster delivery through modular capabilities and shared services.
  • Collaborate to ensure platform capabilities support decisioning, financial crime detection, and customer intelligence.
  • Mentor and develop talent, providing technical guidance, career support, and performance feedback.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams within large-scale, cloud-native data environments.
  • Strong background in software engineering and platform architecture, with hands-on experience in real-time data ingestion, transformation, and operation.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to modernise systems, influence technical direction, and drive adoption.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a passion for growing diverse engineering communities.
