The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 role requires a unique blend of clinical expertise and leadership skills to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute medical ward environment.

About the Role:
  • This position involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating complex care for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • You will be responsible for providing evidence-based, person-centred care and working closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • As a clinical resource, you will mentor nursing staff and contribute to quality improvement projects, clinical governance activities, and local protocols aligned with NSW Health policy and priorities.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of complex care for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
  2. Act as a clinical resource for the team, mentor nursing staff, and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and monitor care plans that reduce risk, prevent harm, and optimise health outcomes.
  3. Contribute to ward-based quality improvement projects, clinical governance activities, and the development of local protocols that align with NSW Health policy and priorities.

This role requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
