About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Professional to join our team at a leading steel manufacturing and distribution company. This role involves managing breakdowns, performing planned maintenance, and implementing improvements across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Executing preventative and predictive maintenance, and attending to breakdowns as needed.
  • Troubleshooting issues and identifying opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Providing feedback and maintaining accurate records via our maintenance management system.
  • Coordinating with workshop trades and external contractors.
  • Executing planned shutdowns and repairs efficiently.
  • Completing all tasks with high quality and safety standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

This position requires a relevant mechanical trade qualification and experience in Heavy Industry. Ideal candidates will be Maintenance Fitters who prioritize safety, efficiency, teamwork, and demonstrate initiative.

  • Experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to fabricate and weld to testing standards.
  • Proactive approach with safety and customer focus.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of working independently and guiding contractors.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Extensive experience in Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
  • Proficiency in computer skills; SAP experience is highly regarded.
  • Previous shutdown activity experience.
  • Safety certifications such as Working at Heights are desirable.
