Role Overview
Disability Support Workers play a pivotal role in the lives of individuals with disabilities. This position requires compassion, patience, and a willingness to provide support in various settings.
Our ideal candidate will have experience working in the disability sector, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to communicate effectively with participants, families, and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support to people with disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being.
- Assist participants with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, families, and colleagues, fostering a supportive team environment.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of person-centered plans, ensuring participant needs are met and goals are achieved.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care and support services.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability or Individual Support.
- At least 6 months of full-time experience within the disability sector.
- Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain.
- Full working rights in Australia.
- Previous experience with Brain Trauma and/or High Complex Care.
- Manual Handling Certificate valid within the last 12 months.
- Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain.
- NDIS Worker Clearance or willingness to obtain.
