The Role

This permanent part-time position (30 hours per week) delivers our Employment Pathways Program from Port Kembla. As an Employment and Support Coordinator, you will provide one-on-one and group support to program participants, mainly former refugees with low English and complex barriers to employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver information sessions to stakeholders
  • Create and maintain detailed job or training plans
  • Engage participants to set and achieve goals to overcome barriers to improve their skills and job readiness
  • Build and maintain relationships with job seekers and stakeholders
Essential Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary education or equivalent relevant experience
  • Specialist operating knowledge/experience in employment and training services and/or relevant field
  • Experience working in the multicultural agency sector, particularly with people who are former refugees
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience delivering pre-employment/job readiness training programs
  • Lived experience of migration and/or capacity to speak a relevant community language
