Seeking an Experienced Auditor

We are looking for a seasoned Internal Auditor to join our team in Sydney. As an Internal Auditor, you will contribute to the preparation of engagement plans and participate in annual internal audit planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field audit engagements as per the IA plan and methodology to enhance governance, risk management, and internal controls.
  • Support the team with conducting interviews, completing the Risk and Control Matrix (RACM), and presenting and negotiating audit findings/issues.
  • Prepare internal auditing reports for the Board, the Audit Committee, and Management.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on auditing matters and periodically present to the team on engagement outcomes and lessons learned.

About You:

You should have full professional membership, e.g., IIA, CA, CPA, and at least 10 years' experience in internal audit, including supervisory experience. Previous work in government is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities for APS6 Internal Audit:

  • Develop the Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) including work programs for assessments and process flowcharts to support key processes, associated risks, and controls.
  • Undertake assurance assessment activities by interviewing, collecting, and examining evidence against agreed engagement criteria.
  • Document evidential observations, linking to assessment objectives, and assist with wording of audit findings/issues.

About You (APS6):

You should be progressing to full professional membership, e.g., IIA, CA, CPA, and have previous experience (less than 10 years) in external/internal audit.
