Hearing Support Itinerant Teacher

The role of a Hearing Support Itinerant Teacher is pivotal in promoting inclusive education for students who are Deaf/hard of hearing. They work closely with schools, families, and community agencies to provide comprehensive support services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students (P-12) through collaborative efforts with schools and families.
  • Partner with community agencies to deliver evidence-based approaches that foster inclusive education.
  • Implement effective strategies to promote positive outcomes for students in ACT government schools.
Essential Requirements:
  • A minimum of four years full-time tertiary study leading to a recognised school teaching qualification.
  • Current professional teaching registration with the relevant authority or eligibility to obtain.
  • A current clearance issued under the Working with Vulnerable People Act 2011.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Disability Studies or experience in the field is highly desirable.
