Procurement and Contract Management OpportunitiesWe are seeking a highly skilled Procurement and Contract Manager to join our team on a short-term contract.This is an initial 3-month engagement that could also suit someone at Coordinator level.You will be responsible for:
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing procurement and contract management policies and strategies.
  • Leading Council's tendering, contract administration, and supplier engagement activities.
  • Managing performance indicators and identifying cost-saving initiatives.
  • Coaching and supporting staff across departments in procurement best practice.
  • Overseeing Council's stores and inventory control processes.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Developing and implementing procurement and contract management plans.
  2. Leading the development and implementation of Council's procurement strategy.
  3. Managing contracts and tenders to ensure compliance with regulations.
  4. Providing coaching and support to staff in procurement best practice.
  5. Overseeing the inventory control process.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement, business, contract management or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in procurement, tendering, and contract management.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement policies, procedures and category management plans.
  • Strong understanding of probity, compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Local government experience is highly desirable.
