Overview

Public Sector People are working with a Sydney Council who are seeking a Procurement and Contracts Manager to join them on a short-term contract. This is an initial 3 month engagement and could also suit someone at Coordinator level. Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

You Will Be Responsible For
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing procurement and contract management policies and strategies.
  • Leading Council's tendering, contract administration, and supplier engagement activities.
  • Managing performance indicators and identifying cost-saving initiatives.
  • Coaching and supporting staff across departments in procurement best practice.
  • Overseeing Council's stores and inventory control processes.
Essential criteria
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement, business, contract management or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in procurement, tendering, and contract management.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement policies, procedures and category management plans.
  • Strong understanding of probity, compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Local government experience is highly desirable.
