Health Specialist

As a specialist in Maternal and Child Health, you will play a vital role in providing health monitoring and support to children and families in our diverse community.
Key Responsibilities- Developing and implementing comprehensive health monitoring plans for children from birth to 6 years, aligned with Department of Health guidelines.
- Providing additional services and programs to meet the needs of families from diverse backgrounds, including outreach home visits, clinic consultations, or group sessions.
- Undertaking key actions such as anticipatory guidance, counselling, referrals, and making notifications to relevant agencies.
- Maintaining accurate records of daily activities, child/family profiles, and other required documents.
- Ensuring adherence to relevant standards, privacy requirements, and professional code of conduct.
- Maintaining confidentiality of information at all times.
We are seeking:
- A Registered Nurse and Midwife with AHPRA registration, and additional qualifications in Maternal and Child Health.
- Knowledge of well child development, post-natal recovery, lactation establishment, and family dynamics impacting the child.
- Strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Ability to work independently within a multi-disciplinary team framework.
- Decision-making skills based on professional knowledge and expertise.
- Experience conferring with colleagues on issues relating to notification protocols.
- Knowledge of quality improvement cycles.
