Policy Position Description

As a key member of a collaborative team, you will be responsible for shaping health policy and improving access to specialist care. You will develop evidence-based submissions, position statements, and consultation responses, monitor emerging issues, and identify advocacy opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and draft high-quality policy submissions, position statements, and reports with input from stakeholders and experts.
  • Monitor and analyze emerging health policy issues, legislation, and consultations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align policy with organisational priorities and objectives.
  • Provide administrative support, including agendas, minutes, and follow-ups.
  • Assist in the development of clear messaging for stakeholders and contribute to advocacy campaigns.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant organisations.
  • Act as a knowledge hub, communicating policy updates internally and externally.

Requirements

We are seeking an individual with tertiary qualifications in health policy, public health, or related fields (or equivalent experience). The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in developing health policy submissions or similar evidence-based content. They must possess a strong understanding of the Australian health system and policy environment, as well as excellent written communication skills.
