Role Overview:

As a healthcare professional, this role offers the opportunity to lead and develop resident care plans that promote physical and emotional wellbeing.

The position provides direct clinical care and oversees the delivery of clinical and allied health services for residents. This involves leadership responsibilities for all resident care, working closely with the Clinical Manager to identify evidence-based best practices and quality initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction to Care Partners, ensuring resident care needs are met in accordance with clinical needs and care plans.
  • Conduct assessments for each resident during the admission process and as their care needs change.
  • Develop care plans for each resident, utilising information from assessments and collaborating with residents, family, GP, and other staff.
  • Inform relevant managers of any exceptional events or changes in resident status in a timely manner.
  • Respond to quality issues and contribute to continuous improvement systems.
  • Promote consistency for individual residents when assigning care and providing direction to Enrolled Nurses and Care Partners.
  • Model enablement of residents while attending to their needs and providing direction to other staff members.
  • Build trusting relationships with residents based on dignity and respect, communicating effectively with each individual's strengths and limitations.
  • Implement safe working practices, complying with Work Health and Safety, Food Safety, and other relevant legislation and policy.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Proven high level of clinical competencies with excellent analysis, interpretation, and planning skills.
  • Able to lead and influence others.
  • Empathetic and respectful towards the aged care population.
  • Sound understanding of care assessment and provision within the Aged and Health Care sectors.
  • Ability to work flexibly within a multidisciplinary team environment.
