Job Title: Financial Planning Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Planning Specialist to join our team.

  • This role will involve providing financial inputs to the Department's Portfolio Budget Statements (PBS) and Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements (PAES), using budget management and reporting software such as CBMS, TM1, BMS, GEUS, and CDM.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and preparing the Department's financial inputs into the Commonwealth's annual Budget and MYEFO cycles, including estimates updates.
  • You will interact with central Government agencies, program areas, and sections on Budget documents and liaise with partner departments as required.
  • The role requires effective communication and presentation skills, particularly in preparing briefing material, reports, and other Budget-related documents for senior executives.
  • Additionally, you will deliver timely and accurate financial advice and support to stakeholders, including Budget reporting and analysis.
  • In this position, you will manage, support, and mentor subordinate staff and other budget team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing financial inputs to the Department's PBS and PAES using budget management and reporting software.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • A tertiary qualification in accounting or another related discipline is regarded as essential.
  • Experience in using, administering, and reporting in the Central Budget Management System (CBMS) is considered highly desirable.
  • A security clearance at Baseline level is required.
