The opportunity exists to join a team of caring professionals in a rural community, working in a remote aged care facility. This is an ideal position for someone passionate about supporting the wellbeing and dignity of elderly residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and independence.
  • Support residents with mobility and transfers, utilising equipment such as hoists and other aids.
  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding, respecting dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a warm and respectful environment.
  • Monitor and report any changes in physical or emotional wellbeing to nursing staff.
  • Encourage resident participation in daily activities and recreational programs, promoting engagement and wellbeing.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in residents' rooms and common areas.
  • Implement individualised care plans and contribute to ongoing review and improvement.
  • Comply with infection control protocols and workplace health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the care team to deliver exceptional care and support.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in aged care or a similar care role.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Current National Police Check.
  • Up-to-date influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for caring for the elderly and supporting their wellbeing.
