As a Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in managing commercial outcomes on high-profile infrastructure projects across Sydney.
The successful candidate will lead the commercial and procurement function across a major project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the end-to-end procurement process from tendering through to contract award.
- Oversee upstream and downstream contracts including negotiation, administration, claims, and variations.
- Lead subcontract engagement and manage complex packages of work.
- Administer payment claims and ensure timely processing and compliance.
- Manage insurance and liability claims related to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with the finance team on forecasting, cost-to-complete reports, and commercial performance tracking.
- Provide leadership to Senior Contract Administrators and the wider commercial team.
- Maintain governance, compliance, and reporting to senior management.
- Proven experience in commercial management within construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in procurement, subcontract administration, and contract management (upstream and downstream).
- Skilled in payment claims, claims resolution, and supply chain management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams of contract administrators.
- Knowledge of Australian contract law, construction legislation, and statutory compliance.
- Strong financial literacy and ability to work closely with finance teams on forecasting and project costs.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
