Job Role:

An Electrical Maintenance Engineer plays a vital part in the efficiency and reliability of production processes, ensuring seamless operation.

This role is varied and dynamic, requiring hands-on skills associated with being an electrician and service engineer. Key responsibilities include:

  • Installing and maintaining electrical equipment and machinery
  • Operating preventative maintenance systems to identify potential issues before they occur
  • Troubleshooting faults and implementing effective solutions
  • Programming Siemens and other programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Utilizing testing equipment to locate and remedy faults
  • Promoting Lean thinking to optimize workflows and reduce waste
  • Providing timely support during breakdowns to minimize downtime
  • Contributing to the development of safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation
  • Maintaining adherence to quality standards in accordance with ISO 9001

Training will be provided to ensure you can work safely and effectively, applying your technical expertise to drive results.

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in heavy industry
  • Strong team playing skills and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A solid understanding of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) processes and procedures
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex issues

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A completed apprenticeship program or equivalent hands-on training
  • 17th or 18th edition certification (training can be provided if needed)
  • A higher national certificate (HNC) or diploma (HND) in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience working in heavy industry manufacturing environments
