We are seeking a dedicated Lead Computer Science Educator to lead the teaching of computer science in a dynamic school environment.


About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, teaching key topics such as programming, algorithms, data representation, networks, and cybersecurity. They will also prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, ensuring high levels of progress and achievement.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable)
  • Teach core computer science concepts, including programming languages, data structures, and software engineering principles
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, focusing on high levels of progress and achievement
  • Mentor and support colleagues to ensure consistent teaching quality and effective classroom management
  • Contribute to the development of the computer science curriculum, staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements

Requirements:
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Have experience teaching computer science at secondary level
  • Be passionate about technology and able to engage students of all abilities
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in computer science education
