About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical or Mechanical Practitioner to join our team at Hydro Tasmania. As a Senior Technical Officer, you will play a key role in the planning and implementation of activities in support of our electrical plant program of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the refurbishment and maintenance of power station equipment, ensuring their sustainability and reliability into the future.
  • Work closely with site-based staff and project teams, including project managers, outage managers, and other engineers/tech officers.
  • Test and commission industrial power stations after major refurbishment outages, utilizing high-speed instrumentation and data logging equipment.
  • Prepare high-quality written documentation to support commissioning activities.
Requirements
  • Deep technical knowledge and experience in automation, testing, and commissioning of heavy industrial rotating machinery.
  • Hands-on experience using and analyzing outputs from high-speed instrumentation and data logging equipment.
  • Ability to travel to various locations across Tasmania and stay away from home for extended periods.
  • Collaborative approach to work and ability to problem-solve with others.
