About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Senior Solicitor to join our Kemps Petersons Legal team in Melbourne. This is a full-time permanent position, reporting to the Senior Solicitor. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of a variety of legal matters across multiple jurisdictions, including debt recovery, strata recoveries, insolvency, commercial, and civil litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the drafting, reviewing, and editing of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support senior solicitors and provide accurate advice and guidance to clients.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, effectively communicating legal advice and providing timely updates on case progress.
- Assist in the management of cases, including organizing and maintaining case files, preparing court documents, and coordinating with external parties such as courts, opposing counsel, and experts.
- Ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards by conducting thorough legal research, staying up to date with changes in legislation, and providing recommendations to ensure compliance in client matters.
About You
- You will have 3-5 years' post-admission experience and a current practicing certificate, preferably with experience in debt recovery, strata recoveries, insolvency, commercial, and civil litigation.
- Previous experience managing your own litigation files.
- Strong advocacy, negotiation, drafting, and attention to detail.
- You're known for outstanding client service and communication skills (written & verbal).
- You can professionally and sensitively deal with clients and third parties.
- Knowledge of practice and procedure of Magistrates/Local, Supreme, and Federal Courts.
