About the Role

Job Summary

We are seeking an electrical engineer with expertise in solar and battery energy systems to join our engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in developing projects from inception through to commissioning, managing multiple stakeholders, and assisting with the completion of solar energy system designs, proposals, and construction drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop solar projects, working closely with accredited designers and engineers
  • Select suitable products and ancillary equipment for system designs
  • Estimate material costs and quantities, and support tender preparation
  • Organize and supervise the assembly and installation of components and controls
  • Perform and report on in-field product testing and performance, including quality assurance and control
  • Analyze data, carry out complex computations, and prepare diagrams as needed
  • E nsure that designs and completed work meet specifications, regulations, and contract provisions
  • Manage workload to support project programming and scheduling
  • Administer projects, including contracts, commercial management, procurement, and client liaison
Requirements
  • Engineering design and delivery background with project management experience preferred
  • Other related qualifications and diplomas considered
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector essential
  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure and collaboratively with the team
  • Personable, diligent, and goal-oriented
  • Exceptional computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Competency in AutoCad 2D
  • SAA Grid Connected PV system accreditation essential
  • SAA Grid Connected Battery Systems accreditation preferred
  • Working knowledge of AS3000 –AS3008- AS4777.1 – AS5033 – AS5139 essential
  • Solid knowledge of CEC and SAA guidelines
  • Working knowledge of DNSPs requirements essential
Desirable Skills
  • PV modelling tools/software (PVsyst, Helioscope, Homer, Orkestra)
  • PowerCAD
  • Off-grid system experience
