Job Title

A senior professional is needed to work in a team environment, managing staff and overseeing the care of children, young people, and their families. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the welfare and safeguarding of these individuals, ensuring their needs are identified and met.

About the Role
  • This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong leadership and communication skills.
  • The post-holder will be responsible for deputising in the absence of the Team Manager and assisting with the completion of work to ensure effective delivery of services.
  • The role involves supporting the making of key decisions regarding children in accordance with legislation, statutory guidance, and local policies.
  • Assessments and planning for children and young people must actively promote the participation and engagement of all relevant agencies, the child/young person, and their family.
  • Maintaining case records to a high standard and producing reports in accordance with Service guidance/policy and procedure is essential.
  • The diverse needs of children, young people, and their families must be identified, met, and regularly reviewed, with plans updated to reflect any subsequent changes.
  • Participating in developmental activities and promoting improvement of service or the use of resources is crucial.
  • Deputising or assisting the Team Manager in chairing operational case management meetings is also required.
  • Supporting the Team Manager in allocating work within the team to ensure it is allocated in accordance with Service procedures is an important aspect of the role.
  • Undertaking specific responsibilities for key service areas as agreed with the Team Manager is also necessary.
  • Representing the team or Service at internal or multi-agency forums, including operational meetings, is a key responsibility.
Requirements
  • The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • They will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and local policies.
  • Knowledge of child development and protection principles is essential.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills are required, as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure.
