About the Role

This is an excellent full-time opportunity for a dedicated Engineer to join our Pinkenba Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to delivering high-quality products and services to our customers, while working towards strategic growth plans.

We are seeking an experienced Engineer to join our team, who will be responsible for designing and developing new products, improving existing ones, and ensuring compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new products or improve existing ones, considering factors such as functionality, manufacturability, cost, customer requirements, and regulations.
  • Design required tooling, fixtures, and jigs.
  • Produce sketches of components and parts for processing into CAD drawings.
  • Review and approve drawings.
  • Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for products.
  • Establish product standards and procedures, ensuring products meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify new materials, technologies, and methods to enhance product performance, reduce costs, or improve manufacturing processes.
  • Plan and execute engineering projects, including setting objectives, developing schedules, allocating resources, and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion within budget constraints.
  • Provide technical support to production teams, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and implementing corrective actions to resolve problems and minimize downtime.
  • Identify potential risks associated with product designs and manufacturing processes, implementing measures to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements, staying updated on changes to regulations that may impact manufacturing operations.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and other staff members to develop their technical skills and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Work closely with other departments to understand their needs and requirements, incorporating feedback into designs and development processes.

About You:

We are seeking a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • Commitment to safety.
  • University qualification (Bachelor Degree).
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • CAD drafting experience.
  • High degree of computer literacy.
  • Familiarity with welding procedures, failure modes, and processes.
  • High attention to detail.
