About this role

This is a Companion Carer position available in Wagga Wagga, requiring someone to provide support and care for clients in their homes.

As a Companion Carer, you will work with clients who may have cognitive decline, disabilities, or other needs that require assistance with daily living tasks, such as errands, companionship, and support.

You will be responsible for providing a person-centred approach, respecting the rights and needs of each client, and working within an enabling environment that promotes independence and dignity.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with people experiencing cognitive decline, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and their families.

Additional responsibilities include preparing meals as needed, observing and reporting changes in client health and wellbeing, and responding to emergency situations.

To be successful in this role, you will need a current National Police Check, First Aid & CPR certificates, and a current unrestricted driver's licence. Comprehensive car insurance is also required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide support and care for clients in their homes
  • Assist with daily errands, companionship, and support
  • Work with clients who may have cognitive decline, disabilities, or other needs
  • Prepare meals as needed
