
Integrated Systems Test Engineer

Our goal is to make human life on Mars a reality. We are actively developing the technologies to achieve this.
This role is part of our Starship team and involves responsibility for initial system testing of the vehicle.
You will be tasked with developing procedures and tools to test integrated vehicle assemblies, ensuring they operate seamlessly and safely before launch.
Key challenges include ensuring the efficient execution of checkout processes, accelerating production operations, and verifying vehicle health.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of vehicle systems and their interactions
- Evaluate test criteria and pass/fail requirements for checkouts
- Establish procedures for validation of evolving spacecraft systems
- Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency and safety
- Troubleshoot hardware issues in real-time and drive feedback for resolution
- Interface with cross-functional teams including design, build, and systems engineering
- Develop training programs to enhance test execution capabilities within production and engineering teams
- Collaborate with production leadership and technicians to optimize production line performance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- 1+ years of hands-on engineering experience
Preferred Skills:
- Proven experience streamlining test operations by challenging requirements and eliminating waste
- Systems engineering expertise, ability to understand complex integrated systems
- Experience creating and interpreting electrical and fluid schematics
- Integration and testing of propulsion and/or electrical systems
- Planning and execution of complex test operations
- Test software development and automation
- Test equipment design and operation
- Writing test plans and providing go/no-go judgment
- Familiarity with software development in Rust, Python, or other languages
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel up to 15% in support of launches and build activities
- Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg
- Flexibility to work all shifts, extended hours, and weekends as needed
