About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading energy and resources organisation as a Senior Privacy and Compliance Lawyer. Based in Melbourne, this full-time role offers a challenging and rewarding experience for a skilled professional.

As a key member of the legal team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on privacy matters, including the Privacy Act, Privacy Principles, Consumer Data Rights and Concessions. You will also work closely with stakeholders to identify and mitigate compliance risks, develop strategies to ensure regulatory adherence, and maintain effective relationships with external agencies such as the OAIC and ACCC.

To succeed in this role, you will require strong knowledge of Australian privacy laws and regulations, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a fast-paced team.

About the Role
  • Provide expert advice on privacy matters, including the Privacy Act, Privacy Principles, Consumer Data Rights and Concessions.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify and mitigate compliance risks, develop strategies to ensure regulatory adherence, and maintain effective relationships with external agencies.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to provide training and support on privacy matters.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian privacy laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a fast-paced team.
Estimated Salary Range

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
