Aboriginal Health Advocate

The Aboriginal Health Worker plays a crucial role within a multidisciplinary team providing primary healthcare services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander individuals, addressing physical, emotional, cultural, and environmental needs.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and implement health care and promotion initiatives
- Contribute to documentation and data reporting for patient records and care planning
- Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage
- Hold a Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a relevant Certificate III health qualification
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of local Aboriginal community and health challenges
- Ability to plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate health promotion and education initiatives
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Cultural competence and awareness
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
