Job Title: Maintenance Specialist

Description:

The Gardener - Handyperson plays a pivotal role in maintaining the school's outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe and conducive to a positive learning environment.

This position involves overseeing the upkeep of turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, trees, and various soft landscapes. The role also encompasses maintaining hard landscaping features like courts and paving, marking sports areas, and conducting minor repairs in alignment with departmental policies.

Additionally, the Maintenance Specialist is responsible for keeping gardening facilities, equipment, tools, and machinery in a clean and serviceable condition, reporting faults promptly, and adhering to safe work practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the school grounds in a safe and tidy condition
  • Oversee the upkeep of turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, trees, and soft landscapes
  • Maintain hard landscaping features like courts and paving
  • Mark sports areas
  • Conduct minor repairs
  • Keep gardening facilities, equipment, tools, and machinery in good condition

Requirements:

Applicants must be able to obtain a valid Working With Children Check and consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check. They must also be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
