Job Title: Master Craftsman

The Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will play a vital role in delivering essential maintenance services, ensuring safe and functional environments for staff and patients.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is part of the Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA), which provides facilities management services to over 5,000 government-owned sites across 48 South Australian agencies. Our team works closely with local businesses to deliver these services 365 days a year, supporting communities across the state.

This is a permanent, full-time position based on-site at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide, working Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance tasks, including carpentry and trade-related activities within specified timeframes and quality standards.
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs, maintenance, and minor modifications in line with safety and compliance requirements.
  • Operate tools, machinery, and equipment safely, and assist with non-mechanical maintenance and construction activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, including photographic documentation uploaded to company systems.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and the service delivery team to support smooth operations.
  • Complete tasks within time and budget constraints, escalate issues as needed, and contribute to safety culture and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Trade qualification in Carpentry or equivalent experience.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Current White Card.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Demonstrated experience in carpentry maintenance and new works, ideally in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks within time and budget constraints.
  • Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
