Hotel Engineer Position

At our esteemed hotel, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hotel Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all engineering operations across our hotel's interior and exterior facilities.

The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of building management and engineering principles, with a strong background in electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades. They will possess excellent communication and collaborative skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Lead the Engineering Team in day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel;">
• Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program to ensure all equipment and facilities are in good working order;">
• Monitor and coordinate services performed by outside contractors in accordance with all contracts and service agreements;">
• Collaborate with departments such as Housekeeping and Front Office to ensure seamless operations;">
• Plan, implement, and administer an effective preventive maintenance program;">
• Plan, implement, and administer an energy management program to conserve energy and introduce sustainable systems and equipment;">
• Ensure the hotel complies with all local codes and regulations related to safety and sustainability standards;">
• Conduct ongoing inspections of buildings and facilities to ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety, Fire, or any other pertinent legislation;">
• Manage the maintenance budget, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving measures;">
• Coordinate renovation bidding, define the cost and scope of the project, and oversee the general contractor and subcontractors to ensure quality work is performed cost-effectively;">
• Be prepared to respond to emergencies such as equipment failures or natural disasters;">
• A focus on sustainability with a proactive strategy to reduce the hotel's impact on the environment and increase support to the community.">

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a Hotel Engineer who is:

• Electrical, Plumbing, or Mechanical trade qualified;">
• Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering;">
• Motivated, self-driven, with a passion for delivering consistency;">
• Flexibility with rostering and available 24/7 in case of an emergency;">
• High communication and collaborative skills;">
• Superior communicator and negotiating skills who is able to collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders for win-win outcomes;">
• Possess knowledge of the requirements of government regulations and technical rules;">
• Previous facilities management experience preferably within Hotels and Hospitality;">
• A hands-on and approachable leader with previous experience managing and training a team;">
• Exposure to budgeting and basic accounting principles;">
• Experience in high-rise commercial facilities desirable.">
