About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Business Partner to join our team at Glenorchy City Council. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of our financial, management, and project accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial strategies and plans to support the Council's goals and objectives.
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to senior stakeholders across the organization, including the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Lead the development of the Council's budget and assist with annual reporting obligations.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify budget opportunities and improve service delivery through contracting and financial analysis.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Accounting/Finance/Commerce degree or equivalent and demonstrated experience in a commercial finance environment for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to meet deadlines under conflicting pressures.
