Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Piping Engineer to join our team at Bechtel Corporation. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and reviewing plant design and piping work on large projects with specialized requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop conceptual designs for plant design and piping projects or projects with unique requirements.
  • Examine and analyze pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME code compliance and interpret new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data.
  • Optimize facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams, client requirements, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements.
  • Provide technical input to meet procurement requirements and prepare or oversee the preparation of discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Review and approve key design documents, supplier drawings, and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders for the project to which assigned.
  • Mentor plant design and piping personnel by providing on-the-job training for their professional development and provide input to and participate in special technical educational and training programs as directed.

Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to lead a team of engineers and designers in the development of plant design and piping scope and deliverables from conceptual phase through to construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry piping codes and standards, and their application to process plant design.
  • Experience with the coordination and control of engineering inter-disciplinary interfaces.
