The Dog Trainer position is responsible for delivering high-quality dog training programs, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring consistent achievement of quality outcomes. The role requires a key team member to lead and educate pet owners, while building and maintaining relationships with clients and dogs.
- Behavioural modification for dogs in structured training programs;
- Managing and delivering quality outcomes for each of our training programs - Stay and Learn Programs, Home Dog Training, Group Classes and Individual one on one sessions;
- Educating dog owners to successfully maintain our training schedule to ensure ongoing success in the home environment;
- Achieving sales goals by driving sales;
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients and dogs;
- Undertaking animal welfare duties associated with training dogs;
- Training and development of junior dog trainers.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a dog trainer with experience working with families and individuals, across a range of fields in dog training.
- Ability to implement training strategies based on proven animal behaviour methodologies for individual dogs.
- Highly motivated by providing solutions, dog training skills/techniques with superior customer service to dog owners.
- Highly skilled to communicate to owners the benefit of training and acquire the dog to participate in our training programs.
- Ability to respond well to demands on your time and work effectively without direct supervision.
- Positive, open-minded attitude.
- Ability to make objective decisions to achieve positive outcomes.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
- Current driver's licence.
- Unrestricted work rights in Australia.
- Completed an Animal Studies Qualification - preferred but not essential.
