Exciting opportunity for a highly capable and collaborative Senior Software Engineer to join our Technology business unit.

About the Role:
  • Design, develop and support high-quality application solutions aligned with our technical strategy.
  • Analyse and implement changes based on business requirements, including documentation and testing.
  • Investigate and resolve system incidents and problems, recommending preventative measures.
  • Lead code reviews and ensure consistent, high-quality development standards.
  • Manage branching, deployment and release coordination activities.
  • Provide expert advice to technical and non-technical stakeholders across platforms.
  • Mentor and support team members, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing environment.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Software Engineer with deep technical expertise and a passion for mentoring and collaboration. You will bring strong analytical skills, experience across legacy and modern platforms, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience with COBOL and SQL, including relational database design and optimisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in superannuation or similar financial services environments.
  • Knowledge of Appian and experience developing within cloud-based platforms.
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence for Agile delivery and documentation.
  • Proven ability to lead technical decisions and support peer development.
  • Expertise in code branching, version control and deployment pipelines.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
