About the RoleWe are seeking warm and dependable volunteers who can provide safe transport and companionship to older and vulnerable Australians.
This is an opportunity to enhance your skills, gain new experiences and contribute to delivering compassionate care within our community.
Your Key Responsibilities- Operate Red Cross vehicles to transport clients locally and regionally on weekdays
- Provide a safe, courteous and respectful transport experience
- Assist clients with mobility aids and safely help them board and disembark (lifting up to 15 kg)
- Engage in conversation and activities appropriate to the client or group
- Respect clients' privacy, rights and dignity, and maintain confidentiality
You will be working closely with our Aged & Community Care team to support older and vulnerable people across Australia through volunteer-based programs.
Training and SupportRed Cross will provide you with comprehensive training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the world's largest humanitarian network.
The Impact You Will MakeAs a Transport volunteer, you will deliver more than just safe transport - you will offer companionship, dignity and peace of mind. Your contribution will help clients maintain independence, reduce isolation and participate fully in community life.
