  • We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an apprentice farrier.
Key Responsibilities
  • This role involves assisting experienced farriers in providing high-quality farriery services to thoroughbred racing trainers at leading stables and training complexes.
  • As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in hoof care and shoeing techniques, working closely with experienced professionals in the industry.
  • You will also have the opportunity to develop strong work ethic, reliability, and communication skills, essential for success in this field.
Requirements
  • Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia and speak fluent English.
  • The ideal candidate will possess physical ability to lift, push, pull, and sustain a bent squat position under a horse throughout the day.
  • All applicants will undergo a pre-employment medical and functional capacity assessment and drug and alcohol test.
Preferred Skills
  • A Certificate II or III in Animal Care Management: Equine Care or Equine Studies is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience around horses and confidence in handling horses would be advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license and own insured vehicle are required.
  • Additionally, owning tools of trade would be beneficial.
