We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Clarence Correctional Centre. As a Registered Nurse - Mental Health, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive mental health assessments, referrals, and case management to patients. You will work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment, ensuring rehabilitation, safety, and security within the correctional system.
Key Responsibilities- Provide primary care based on a patient-centered model, allowing patients to actively participate in their health management while collaborating closely with correctional staff.
- Educate custodial patients on healthy living and lifestyle choices.
- Assist with reintegration into the community and ensure continuity of care.
- Address the diverse needs of custodial patients, including men, women, and culturally and linguistically diverse groups, through tailored care.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a mental health setting.
- Strong clinical problem-solving skills and knowledge of mental health care.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Cultural awareness and an inclusive approach to patient care.
