We are seeking a dedicated teacher to lead our outdoor education program.

This role delivers a bespoke program to Year 10 students, incorporating key curriculum, wellbeing, and aligning with our school values. The position promotes student connection, relationships, and individualized learning.

The program offers a unique pathway for students, featuring experiential learning centered around real-world experiences and wellbeing. The trip includes exploring the Great Barrier Reef, engaging in sustainable practices and conservation, and immersing students in Indigenous Australian Culture.

  • Assume end-to-end responsibility of the program, including design, preparation, and relevant documentation.
  • Role model respect and consideration of the natural environment and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history.
  • Support opportunities for all students to engage with the outdoor environment to enrich and strengthen capabilities such as leadership, resilience, confidence, social skills, and teamwork.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant teaching qualification and recognized outdoor education qualifications or equivalent in specific activities.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching outdoor education.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Extensive outdoor education experience guiding/leading groups during long-term programs.
  • A passion for sustainable practices and conservation.
