About the Role

The Infrastructure and Operations Division at Townsville City Council is seeking a skilled Commercial Lease Officer to join their team. As a Commercial Lease Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a database of council-owned and controlled leased buildings and facilities, and licences including interests and orders over the land.

You will review tenure applications and coordinate their assessment with all stakeholders and advise, negotiate and coordinate prospective tenures and prepare, maintain, and monitor lease and licence agreements to ensure compliance by both parties, and assess and arrange renewal of agreements and effectively manage arrears in rent.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require Tertiary qualifications in Property or Real Estate, or extensive experience in Commercial Leasing within the Real Estate industry along with a strong understanding of leases and the ability to interpret leases, licences and property documentation. You will need a current "C" class drivers' licence.

You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise and negotiate terms with key stakeholders and community groups and other professionals in the property management area and have competent written communication skills with the ability to prepare correspondence and documentation to a high standard, utilising relevant computer packages, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
