Training Officer Job Description

This is a role that requires the provision of practical operational skills training to police officers and other clients. The Training Officer will be responsible for assessing program participants, preparing reports, planning and facilitating education and training programs, and maintaining administrative systems.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • - Provide firearms training and leadership to staff.
  • - Assess program participants and prepare reports.
  • - Plan, facilitate, and review education and training programs.
  • - Liaise with and develop effective working relationships with agencies and individuals.
  • - Contribute to continuous improvement of course curricula.
  • - Maintain information management systems.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate must possess an Open 'C' class license and have experience in assessment and training. Formal qualifications in Assessment and Training are highly regarded. The successful applicant must also undergo a baseline hearing assessment and blood level test prior to commencing firearms activities.

Working Conditions:

The selected candidate will work in a dynamic environment and will be required to undertake ongoing personal development and training to ensure best practice in instructional skills.
