At St Patrick's Marist College Dundas, we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Support Educator to join our team. As a valued member of our staff, you will play a critical role in supporting students with diverse learning needs.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated individual who is passionate about providing high-quality support to students. In this role, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You will also be committed to ongoing professional development and be willing to adapt to changing circumstances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities or additional requirements.
  • Assist students to access learning spaces and participate in activities across the College.
  • Maintain adjustments as detailed in the student's Personalised Learning Plan.
  • Build rapport with students and their parents/carers to better understand their individual needs.
  • Assist students to develop personal, social, and independent learning skills.
  • Support students as they transition into various learning contexts.
  • Assist students to access on-site and off-site activities, including excursions and school camps.
  • Be willing to undertake ongoing professional learning and training in support of a student's personalised plan.
Requirements
  • Current Working with Children Check clearance.
  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
  • Experience in Learning Support will be a distinct advantage.
