About Our Role:

We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our team at ReadyTech As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering features for our education and workforce solution products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop working software across the full stack (end to end) according to requirements and development standards
  • Contribute to feature and solution design with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Assist the support and customer success team with diagnosing issues with the software and providing guidance or helping with appropriate fixes
  • Provide mentoring and guidance for junior developers in any areas of expertise
  • Continually improve domain and technical knowledge through professional development

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of Ruby
  • Good understanding of Rails
  • CSS, HTML, and JavaScript Knowledge
  • An understanding of software version control, specifically with Git
  • Knowledge of programming principles such as OOP and unit testing
  • Proficiency with any RDBMS, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Experience working with a web development framework or SaaS application
  • Experience working in a team using tools such as GitHub and JIRA
  • At least 5 years commercial software development experience in Ruby on Rails
