A challenging opportunity exists for an experienced geotechnical engineering professional to join our team as Head of Geotechnical Engineering. Reporting to the General Manager, Asset Planning & Support, this role plays a critical leadership position in operational outcomes, safety, collaboration, and best practices across our global operations.
About the RoleThis is a rare opportunity for a thought leader who has the engineering agility and dexterity to navigate diverse landscapes. As the lead geotechnical engineer, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on various commodities, mining methods, and deposit types, including sediment hosted Cu-Co, porphyry skarn Cu-Mo-Au, and stratiform pyritic Zn-Pb-Cu-Ag-Au.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert geotechnical engineering advice to teams in Las Bambas, Dugald River, Rosebery, Khoemacau, and Kinsevere.
- Work across open pit and underground operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships within operational and corporate teams.
To be considered for this role, applicants must have extensive design and engineering experience across commodities, mining methods, and deposit types relevant to MMG. Expertise in the provision of advice and governance across multiple assets is highly regarded.
BenefitsAs a valued member of our team, you can expect an attractive salary package, which includes a base salary of $120,000 - $180,000 AUD per annum, plus superannuation and other benefits. This position is preferably located in Melbourne, Adelaide, or Brisbane Australia, or an alternative location within MMG's global asset and support office footprint.
