Job Title: Staff Specialist

 Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced professional with leadership expertise to join our team in Anatomical Pathology.

  • Provide high-quality diagnostic, consultative, procedural and on-call specialty services in Anatomical Pathology.
  • Participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities commensurate with the Staff Specialists (State) Award.

Selection Criteria:

  • Currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Anatomical Pathology.
  • Demonstrated contemporary clinical knowledge and technical expertise within the specialty of Anatomical Pathology.
  • Capacity to lead and manage a large complex pathology department including successful management of human, physical and financial resources.
  • Ability to build and inspire multidisciplinary teams and be an effective team member.
  • Superior communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to basic, applied or clinical research and/or medical education and staff training.
  • Commitment to the principles of clinical quality management, continuous improvement and a contemporary knowledge of National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council (NPAAC) Standards and NATA accreditation processes.
