At Yarra City Council, we're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Collections and Shared Services team. As Metadata and Systems Support Librarian, you'll play a key part in ensuring the integrity and accessibility of our collections.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintaining accurate and consistent metadata across Yarra Libraries' physical and digital collections.
- Supporting the configuration and use of the Library Management System (Symphony), including reporting and analytics tools like Blue Cloud Analytics.
- Performing original and copy cataloguing using MARC21, RDA, DDC and LCSH standards.
- Liaising with suppliers and partners to ensure shelf-ready materials meet required standards.
- Assisting with staff training, process documentation, and system troubleshooting.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Highly developed analytical skills for maintaining and enhancing metadata
- Technical expertise in Symphony and Blue Cloud Analytics software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with suppliers and partners
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
