Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Review bids, mechanical plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Select HVAC equipment, determine pricing, write technical proposals, and develop cost analysis spreadsheets for bidding purposes.
  • Collaborate with sales engineers, application engineers, and project administrators to clarify project details with suppliers and mechanical contractors.
  • Prior experience in the HVAC industry related to estimating or a willingness to learn is essential.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, air distribution products, and/or temperature control systems is required.
  • Prepare detailed proposals and pricing breakdowns, evaluating equipment savings and costs to provide accurate estimates.
  • Assemble bid files, including all relevant information, in the customer relationship management system to facilitate estimate preparation.
  • Responsible for accurately estimating the cost of HVAC or air distribution equipment and systems related to assigned bid opportunities.

Job Description Summary:

The role of a Mechanical Construction Engineer involves working closely with the Sales and Estimating teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. As an Application Engineer or Project Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing bids, selecting HVAC equipment, and developing cost analysis spreadsheets.

Responsibilities:

  1. Developing comprehensive proposals and pricing breakdowns that meet customer requirements.
  2. Collaborating with suppliers and mechanical contractors to clarify project details and ensure smooth delivery.
  3. Preparing detailed estimates and assembling bid files in the customer relationship management system.
  4. Providing accurate cost estimations for HVAC or air distribution equipment and systems.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, air distribution products, and/or temperature control systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop accurate estimates.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically Excel.
