Role Overview:

Estimator - Residential Construction
  • We are seeking an experienced estimator to join our residential construction team, responsible for preparing accurate budgets and cost estimates for a variety of projects.

This role offers the successful applicant the opportunity to contribute to our growing business with current projects secured through 2029, and with more in the pipeline.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a senior estimator in the residential construction industry, relevant qualifications in construction, project management or quantity surveying, and a proven track record of preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate budgets and cost estimates for residential construction projects.
  • Calculate material quantities with a high level of accuracy, review drawings and specifications, and design precise layouts to ensure compliance and buildability.
  • Apply building best practice to review plans and designs, recommend smarter product options, create clear technical drawings, and ensure compliance with all current building standards.
  • Maintain catalogues, review subcontractor quotes for cost and quality, and prepare supplier requests with all necessary plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Create accurate purchase orders, award them to contractors within timelines, and process invoices.
  • Update templates with product improvements, cost savings, buildability solutions, and feedback to keep them accurate and relevant for future projects.
  • Use our systems to manage reports, budgets, orders and catalogues, take precise measurements from plans, and keep project dates, workflows and timelines up to date.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Estimator in the residential construction industry.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction, project management or quantity surveying.
  • Proven track record of preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for a variety of residential construction projects.
  • Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve cost variances.
  • Flexible with excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in the use of Databuild, Bluebeam, Therefore and the Microsoft suite of products.
