The Navigator Program seeks to re-engage disengaged learners aged 10-17 years old with education.

Our team delivers the Navigator Program in Hume Merri-bek, providing case management and outreach support to help young people create a pathway back into education.

We work one-on-one with young people and their families and schools to provide tailored support for each individual's needs.

Our intake assessment and active hold workers collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to develop relationships with stakeholders across various sectors.

They utilise assertive outreach techniques to engage hard-to-reach families and communicate effectively with schools and stakeholders.

We have a position available for a Navigator Intake and Assessment and Active Hold worker in Brunswick.

The role involves obtaining consent from young people, undertaking assessments, developing rapport with young people and families, providing specialist advice, and referring them to relevant services.

To be successful, you should possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications or experience in a related field
  • Skills and experience in short-term case management or case coordination
  • An understanding of adolescent development and the factors contributing to disengagement from learning
  • High cultural competency and an understanding of culturally appropriate service delivery for Aboriginal and CALD young people
