About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Housing Officer to join our team in Hervey Bay/Maryborough/Bundaberg/Kingaroy Bay. As a key member of our housing service, you will work closely with clients to address their housing needs and provide support to maintain their independent accommodation or access more affordable options.
Key Responsibilities- Provide case management support to clients with complex needs, addressing homelessness and tenancy maintenance under a structured framework.
- Conduct intake and assessments of new clients, identifying their housing needs and developing personalized plans.
- Promote independent living skills and choice, empowering clients to make informed decisions about their housing.
- Collect and report client data as required, utilizing an electronic database to track progress and outcomes.
- Liaise with community and government agencies, as well as real estate agencies, to ensure seamless service delivery and effective case management.
- Ensure service delivery meets all legislative guidelines and internal procedures, maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
- Travel across the Fraser Coast, South and North Burnett, and Wide Bay region to provide services to clients.
- Qualification in Community Services, Mental Health, or Social Housing, or relevant experience in the community sector.
- Experience in accommodation services or real estate is highly regarded.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Housing framework, with the ability to acquire and apply this knowledge effectively.
- Current QLD Driver's license, National Police Certificate, Working with Children Blue Card, and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to a person-centered approach to service provision, prioritizing the needs and dignity of clients.
Centacare Brisbane offers a competitive hourly rate, commencing at $63,953 pa ($32.36/hr), depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, we provide ongoing support, opportunities for career and personal development, access to role-specific training, and a free employee assistance program for you and your family.
